Attention to the patient
Within the EDN structure we are constantly working to create a warm and welcoming environment as well as an ideal relationship of trust between the patient and the staff of the clinic.
With the intent to ease access to treatments which are usually long and complex, the network tries to eliminate or reduce difficulties to a minimum:
- The location of the clinic is easily reachable by public transportation as well as private transportation; we also provide contracts with nearby parking lots and garages
- Hotel and hospitality service with conventional rates is available for patients who must stay overnight.
- Comfortable waiting rooms furnished with widescreen televisions and ADSL connection
- Multimedia entertainment systems to be used by the patients during treatment
- The possibility, for both the patient and for anyone accompanying them, to watch all phases of the operation live on a flat screen television.
- EDN clinics are equipped with special kits for the management of medical emergencies according to international BLSD (Basic Life Support Defibrillation) protocol with proper training of medical staff and assistants
- Easy access to advantageous financial solutions (0% interest) with payment by instalments
The therapeutic approach of the EDN clinics is constantly focused on reducing the invasiveness of all types of treatment, thanks to the integrative use of new technologies, an exclusive heritage developed over the course of many years of research. Minimally invasive techniques cause less damage to the tissues, require smaller doses of anaesthetic, abolish pain, decrease treatment times, and reduce post operatory discomfort to a minimum.
FEAR OF THE DENTIST
The therapeutic approach of the EDN clinics is to reduce pain and discomfort to a minimum. Minimally invasive techniques, the use of the operating microscope, and above all the use of the high-powered laser, allow the doctors to operate keeping trauma to the patient at a minimum.
HYGIENE AND STERILIZATION
Hygiene and sterilization are critical points in any dental clinic since instruments used during treatment as well as furniture surfaces and equipment surrounding the service area can be easily contaminated by biological liquids, i.e. blood and saliva. Pathology created in this way is called "cross-infection".
The following precautions are adopted in EDN clinics in order to eliminate these risks:
- The protection of both patients and workers
This is achieved with the use of barriers: gloves and disposable masks, goggles or glasses, screens, disposable polyethylene film used to cover handles, sterilized cloths, shoe covers, bouffant caps, and other suitable isolation systems. - A program of disinfection, decontamination, and sterilization
Areas at high risk for infection, as operative ones, are treated with highly decontaminating products at the end of each surgical operation and equipment and disposable film are changed, thereby preparing the environment for the next patient.
All instruments and apparatus used during the treatment, are subjected to a rigid sterilization procedure. The instruments are immersed in a solution containing enzymes which dissolve the organic residue (e.g. blood and other tissues) and then in ultrasound basins which detach inorganic remnants (e.g. cement). After that, instruments are washed at 90°, dried, packaged, and then finally sterilized definitively in specific sterilization devices (autoclaves) which reach a temperature of 135°.
